Overall this is a great midrange phone. Apart from the great battery life, the screen is gorgeous, the fingerprint reader is fast and positioned where I want it to be. The design is simple yet elegant. One of the things I have to complain is the lack of marshmallow update. The other thing is the occasional heating problem. Then there's the occasional problem with the knock to wake.
I wish you would work on the marshmallow update ASAP.Star - Call Time Does Not Appear

The Phone itself is great: the display is very good, its fast, has enough memory, the tech specs are o.k.
But the cons are notable too: the software has minor bugs for month and the promised update to Android 6 does not come, no LTE band 20!!!, on the phone of a friend the button has a defect after about 5 month.
Because of the missing LTE band and the software i would not buy the Z1 anymore ...Star - i had buy lenavo zuk z1 there is no ear phone no otg cable travel adaptor in the box . only charger, sim ejector pin and a phone

It's great phone with good features. But it has some issues, one major issue facing still - When a call was disconnected, screen locks and could not to able to open unless it was reboot. Same problem arise when using Adaptive Brightness. Other than this look and performance is great. Battery backup also good.

Its very well specked phone but it has to problems.
1st.... the camera it is awful very poor quality considering its a Sony sensor.
2nd .......is the lack of quick charge 2.5 hours is very slow .
Maybe 2.5 amp like the chinses version would of helped .Star - Good quality and a most capable product

This is a well made phone with a pleasing look to it. I love the big battery and gorgeous screen coupled with ample performance. Storage is more than enough for myself. And being a bit of a geek this fits the bill... Nfc is not essential for me and I must comment on the camera it's really good. Oh the dual Sim is a bonus. I'm pleased with the type c connection supplied... No shortage of cases for it

Super awesome phone. I was coming from a Samsung Galaxy S3 which was apparently amazing in it's prime. That phone went down hill fast and the battery was not lasting until lunch time each day. So when I was searching for a new phone I wanted a HUGE battery, good looks and a phone that won't be slow. I was deciding between this, and the Elefone p8000 (which was much cheaper in price). I also wanted to spend no more than 200 euro. For about a week I thought I had made up my mind on the p8000 because this one was too expensive. But miraculously I found this phone on ebay for 285euro delivered - from Europe, not China (this is important). And then I realised that the Elephone at 200 euros didn't include shipping so I was going to pay more anyway. So I bit the bullet and got this one. And I have NO regrets. The battery is awesomeeeeee I get two days. The big screen is huge and I love it now, it feels premium and I am proud to show it off. And Cyanagenmod sealed the deal because I think stock android is ugly. Really is such an AWESOME phone. Didn't give it five star because of the processor - it is not slow in real life but it is a little dated.

I have spent over a week with the ZUK Z1 and this is my experience with the phone.
The Lenovo owned ZUK released their own phone after being founded in May 2015. The first phone they released is the ZUK Z1 and this is my review after using the phone as my daily driver for a week.
ZUK has provided me with a 18% off discount code which you can use when processing the order and get a great discount off an already great price. The voucher code is D2754KHF and this is valid until the 31st October 2015.
Firstly, I want to focus on the design, the phone has a metal frame with chamfered edges which bares resemblance to flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, as well as the iPhone 5s from 2 years ago but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The phone feels very premium as a result, but the back is made of a glossy plastic which although feels like glass. But it is a fingerprint magnet similar to many phones from 2015. The phone is made securely though, I have tried and tried and never got a single creak from the phone as ZUK has made this very well and they should be praised for the fact. The display and back of the phone meets the frame precisely, and I can’t spot a single gap between the layers which makes the phone feel more premium. The phone is light but has the right amount of heft in it, backed up with the fact that the phones curved back makes the phone feel more compact than it is.
Next I want to talk about the price, I don’t know how ZUK has built this phone for this price, the hardware inside the phone is a Snapdragon 801 2.5Ghz quad core processor, 3GB of DDR4 RAM, a 4100Mah battery. With the back camera being 13 Megapixels and the front being 8 Megapixels.
For £259 ZUK has given this phones specs from last years’ flagships. The terrific quad core Snapdragon 801, doesn’t falter even after heavy processes are thrown at it and keeps on running like a champ throughout. The phone has 4G LTE, as well as the fact that it is GSM which means it will work throughout the world. The 4G LTE chip inside allows for incredible data speed wherever you are and the signal never once dropped out when I was using it. The phone also has the latest ac Wi-Fi which means those who have a new router which can support ac Wi-Fi can take advantage of the incredible speeds that are available inside it. Bluetooth 4.0 is also built in so you can take advantage of the more secure connection as well as stronger and wider connection.
The 5.5 inch 1080p IPS LCD display is Gorilla Glass 3, which makes the phone very resistant to scratches. The display is very bright and allows for easy viewing in direct sunlight. The display makes content viewing a really pleasant experience as it has a high pixel density of 400 pixels per inch. Any video or images viewed on the beautiful look sharp and the display is a midpoint between Samsung’s saturated displays and Apple’s reference RGB displays. This allows for deeper black and colours pop more; this makes viewing any content a very pleasant experience, but on the other hand the reds feel very off but a simple change of settings allows you to change the displays kelvin level depending on how warm or cold you would like the display to be.
This is the first phone which supports USB C version 3.0, compared to the OnePlus Two which only has the USB C v2.0. This allows for a data transfer rate of 5Gbps which is 10x the speed of USB 2.0, as a result any data transfer between your computer transfer at immensely fast speeds. The advantage of USB C v3.0 is that it can fill the 4100Mah much faster.
Coming on to the 4100Mah battery, it is massive compared to many other phones on the market. It is around 2x the size of the iPhone 6s’ battery. The huge size allows for the phone to run multiple days without needing a charge on light days. If you use the phone moderately you will likely to be able to run 2 full days before needing a charge, but even if you are the heaviest of users you will be able to get through a whole day with no problem. It is made up of two batteries which are shaped to fill as much space within the phone as possible.
Next coming onto the camera, the phone’s primary camera is a 13 Megapixel Sony IMX214 F2.0 lens which shoots stunning images. It is very fast to focus and shoots images at a 4:3 ratio at the full resolution, but if you want you can shoot it at 16:9 at 9.7 Megapixels. The camera provides sharp images with vivid colours and lots of details even when viewed on large displays. The front camera is 8 Megapixels and is relatively wide angle, this camera has a lot of detail as well but some of the images look over saturated when viewed on the phone but when viewed on a computer the images look perfectly fine, as well as having lots of detail.
The home button is the next thing I want to talk about, it has a built in fingerprint sensor which is incredibly fast. As soon as you press the home button to wake the phone and the display turns on and your already on your home screen, you literally have no time to check any notifications as the fingerprint sensor is so quick to react. The phone also has a feature which may or may not be deliberate, the phone only has a small fingerprint icon shown above the home button when the display is on and the phone wont give any response when you put an incorrect finger on the sensor. Some people may find this annoying as they might forget which finger they registered and will have to go through each finger before the phone finally unlocks.
The sleep/wake and volume up and down are very tactile but the only issue I have with them is that they wobble a bit, but we can’t really complain to ZUK as this is their very first phone and this is the only part of the phone which has any manufacturing issues but then again this is something ZUK could improve on in the ZUK Z2 maybe.
The OS is very important on the phone and this phone runs Cyanogen 12.1 which is based on Google Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Cyanogen is seen as the most versatile operating system as it allows for lots of customisation throughout. I am a long time iOS user and using this current version of Android was very refreshing as I love the flexibility of Android and when I previously used Android it was clunky, laggy and full of bugs. But now the OS runs buttery smooth across every feature and I haven’t experienced any app closing even when having multiple apps running at once. The RAM management is very good as it manages the apps efficiently and provides those apps that need the RAM more at the forefront but still keeping the apps open in the background.
But I have had a few issues getting the phone up and running in the start as I couldn’t get the microphone or speaker working but a few OTA software updates later and the phone was running perfectly fine, but this is more due to Cyanogen rather than ZUK. The phone updates a few time the first few hours you are using it but these are harmless short software updates which are around 50Mb in size every time.
The speakers of the phone are very loud, I can fill my whole room with the sound easily and it is as loud if not louder than some dedicated speakers which is incredible in the small form factor. Measuring the maximum volume, the phone outputs a decibel level of 100 db. which is very impressive.
On the Antutu benchmark application the phone scored 47539 which is just a hair under the power of last years Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which is impressive. On Geekbench 3, the ZUK Z1 scored 987 on the single core score and on the multi core score it scored 2943 which is higher than last years Samsung Galaxy S5 by 100 points in both the single core and the multi core score. This is incredible as currently the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and S5 sell for close to £400 new and this is £100 less than that with a newer version of Android.
For the price I doubt you could get anything better, the OnePlus one is an obvious competitor but this is the softer feeling phone out of the two as the angular edges of the OnePlus phone means that its awkward to hold seeming though it is such a big phone. The impressive specs in the budget friendly smartphone is amazing.
Overall I feel the phone is just incredible, no seriously. It is just amazing what ZUK have been able to pack into this phone, with this being their first phone they have achieved a remarkable feat and they should be proud of what they have done. I would definitely recommend this phone to anybody in the market looking for a new smartphone at either sides of the spectrum as this is quite budget friendly for people who have a smaller budget as well as being a flagship standard device for those looking at the higher side of the spectrum. By choosing this phone over a more expensive on you could buy 2 of these for the price of a single flagship smartphone. Therefore, I would highly recommend this phone to anybody looking for a great Android smartphone.Star - Great phone and great battery

Zuk Z1 runs very fast and smoothly. The screen is clear. However, I misunderstood the "both sims support 3g/4g network" that's in the advertisement. Quite frustrated when I learned that yes, though it is true that both sims support 4g, only one sim can be on either 3g or 4g, the other sim MUST be on 2g only. Sim 1 and Sim 2 can't simultaneously be both on 3g / 4g. We have to choose which one we prefer to be on 3g/4g and the other will automatically go on 2g.
Also, I can't seem to make the fingerprint lock to work. Many times, too, the double tap to wake the phone won't work.Star - T mobile USA

hi, i m from india. I purchased lenovo zuk z1 one month ago. After 3 weeks my mobile started showing no network but it is detecting the sim card. when i make a call it showing "first turn off the airplane mode" but my airplane mode is already off. when i search for network it is showing "cannot search". I do factory reset also but the problem is still there in mobile. And the 2nd problem is phone is hanging too much even after factory reset. so please tell me how to fix thisproblem. thank u

Hi Lenovo team, my mobile automatically gets restart. The battery also drains very fast. Mobile will getting over heat. Some times touch not working when it's automatically restart. When I get a call or switch on the data the mobile will restart automatically and getting over heat. I bought this mobile before 10 month still I didn't get any updates for your end. You people are making us fool. Even moto's getting up to date softwares. This not expecting from Lenovo zuk. We are highly disappointed. I feel to buy other mobile expect Lenovo. I recommend with my friends to buy other mobile. (after ZUK CEO Chang Chen announced that the zuk z1 would receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat soon, Lenovo today has finally confirmed that the ZUK Z1. Z2 Pro will receive the new software update on January 28, 2017. However, Z1 will get a beta Nougat build at some point in January) this all are fake? When your CEO Chang Chen going to release? You people are lier cheater. Please be a trustworthy to your customers.
